About the Author

Douglas Kirkland spent much of his career in New York City before moving to LA in the 1970s. He catapulted to fame when he first photographed Marilyn Monroe. He has also photographed behind the scenes sets of more than one hundred motion pictures, several of them legendary. Named "Photographer of the Year" by the PhotoImaging, Manufacturers, and Distributing Association, he lives in LA with his wife.

Kirkland was the only photographer on the set of "Thriller".

I have it on pre-order at Amazon! I have seen some of the pictures online as many were auctioned off last summer. They look wonderful! I just received Nelson George's THRILLER book yesterday from Amazon and started reading it today. No pictures though. So far it has covered what he wrote in 1983 in The Michael Jackson Story.

I shortly flipped through the text and came across a passage where the author talks about screaming fans on the set. Maybe there are some pics of that in the book, I would love to see it. I didn't know that fans knew where Michael would shoot the video and appeared on the set. The location in the video looks so outlying and empty
